Are Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs Easy to Clean?

The million-dollar question and one we get asked all the time… and the answer is Yes! All we need is 15 minutes of your time each week to ensure your Jacuzzi® water is fresh and clean. 15 minutes a week may not sound like much but rest assured this really is more than enough time to keep you Jacuzzi® hot tub and your water super sparkly all year around.
Jacuzzi® utilises a ClearRay® system that does a lot of the work for you. ClearRay® uses exclusive UV-C technology to neutralize 99.9% of waterborne pathogens. This technology picks up and clears bacteria that you cannot see so your water will be fresh and clean, without the uses of gasses. You simply just help the Jacuzzi® Hot Tub along the way. Jacuzzi® have chosen to make their ClearRay® technology included as standard with all of the range, a decision they made because we don’t believe that great water quality should be something you should pay extra for like some other brands out there! We want to make sure you are taken care of and that is why Hydrolife only sell the best.
It’s not widely common knowledge, however Jacuzzi® actually acquired the company behind “self-cleaning technology” a few years ago. This gave us the freedom to include this component in the design of our Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs if we felt that they would benefit from it. In short, we decided against the idea as in Jacuzzi’s eyes it was unnecessary and merely added another component that could go wrong. Bacteria exists mainly in the top 10 – 15% of your water, so as long as this element of your water is being regularly agitated and filtered through the filters and filtration system, you don’t really benefit any further by having “self-cleaning” as part of your Hot Tub design. This really only hoovers larger debris such as leaves/stones from the footwell anyway.
Technically, all Hot Tubs are self-cleaning to a certain extent. This is because they have built in filtration that traps debris and bacteria and cleans the water, but they still need to be tested before each use and Hot Tub chemicals need to be added to keep your Hot tub sparkling clean! We recommend keeping a spare set of Jacuzzi® Filters to use with your Jacuzzi® Hot Tub cleaning regime to speed things up a bit when you’re completing your weekly Hot Tub maintenance routine. Just to touch on the subject of self-cleaning a little bit more here, we know that the idea of a fully self-cleaning Hot Tub would be pretty awesome. However, in reality there is not one single Hot Tub available on the market that won’t require at least a little bit of help from you to keep it running!
